We are a woman-owned and woman-led small business. We are deeply dedicated to serving the local population of Hawai'i, particularly underserved populations with limited access to mental health services. We currently have locations on the Island of Hawai'i and the Island of Oahu. We strive to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where clients can begin the process of healing and change without judgment. Areas of expertise include trauma, chemical dependency, addiction, eating disorders, codependency, life transition issues, divorce, grief, personality disorders, adult children of alcoholics (ACOA), dual diagnosis, depression and anxiety. We strive to develop a collaborative relationship with clients and provide hope, healing, and empowerment through education, resources, and insights. Pau Hana Counseling provides individual, couples, group, marriage and family therapy. Our goal is the help the residents of Hawai'i by providing professional, competent, accessible, and compassionate therapy services.
All of the clinicians at Pau Hana Counseling have expertise in treating different clientele and focus on serving those populations. We aim to employ diverse clinicians with different areas of expertise and experiences to be able to serve as many different types of clients as possible. We are also very passionate about providing our therapists-in-training with excellent supervision and vast experiences working with a wide variety of clients. All of our clinicians choose their own caseload size and create their own schedule. We employ proficient and skilled administrative staff to support our clinicians so they can focus on providing excellent therapy services and serving our clients. Our therapists have access to free monthly individual and group supervision with Pau Hana Counseling's Clinical Director, Dr. Erin Gustin, MA, PsyD, LP, and have access to free psycho-educational materials to provide to clients. Our therapists-in-training have access to licensed and trained therapists who can provide them with the needed supervision hours to work towards licensure. Our therapists also receive free psycho-educational trainings from our many accomplished clinicians.
Changes in response to COVID-19
Pau Hana Counseling offers in person and telehealth appointments. We adhere to federal and state mandated guidelines in our office
and will continue safety measures for clients who wish to be seen in person. If you prefer telehealth, we use the Telehealth by Simple Practice
or the Zoom app. Both platforms are easy to use and basic requirements are a computer, tablet or mobile phone with video capabilities
and an internet connection. Nearly all insurance companies cover Telehealth appointments, please contact your medical insurance provider
for specifics. Sending love and hope to all during these challenging times.
